Journey’s End

Sheila passed away this morning just past midnight. She struggled and fought to the very end, but her suffering is over, finally. I will miss her terribly. She is and was the love of my life. She brought such joy and happiness to me every minute of everyday. I am hollow without her…….

  23. Ah Ken. I can’t imagine your pain right now. My own heart is torn in two– breaking for you, and for the loss of Sheila. Just know your angel on earth is finally out of pain, and you have beautiful blue eyes looking down on you from heaven. Everytime you look up into that bright San Diego sky, you’ll see her. Thank you for all you did for her. Weren’t you both blessed to have found the loves of your lives! My biggest hugs to you, and love. Kathi

  25. Dear Ken,
We are so sorry Sheila’s valiant battle has come to an end. It was truly inspirational to see the two of you, arm-in-arm, battling this desease, never faltering, always positive, always there for each other. We wish we could be with you, but hope and pray that your sharing of grief with us all will help you to heal and live always with your wonderful memories and love for Sheila. Please take care of yourself.
    Love, Frank & Barbara

  26. Dear Ken,
My daughter, Cathy, broke the sad news to me yesterday. My heart is heavy with the sadness I feel for you. I have walked in your shoes so I KNOW how difficult the journey has been for you and Sheila. I lost my husband, Cathy’s father, nineteen years ago. I still think of him, miss him, and hold him close to my heart and I always will. I promise you that time will heal the incredible loss that you feel today. Keep your friends near while you are healing…they are the angels who will watch over you and bring comfort. And remember, Sheila, your very special angel, will be watching over you for the rest of your life.

    Much love,
    Elena

  27. Dear Ken, Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow!!

    Josh & Maria

  28. Ken, I knew Sheila from National Vending. Know that she has touched many in her short life time. You are in my prayers.
    Cathy MacLeod

  29. Ken,
From the first time I met you, I could see why you made my cousin Sheila so happy. On my last two trips from Dallas to San Diego, I was thrilled to share two special moments with you and Sheila: June 2008 to celebrate your wedding, and December 2008 to celebrate Challis’ and my anniversary. You and Sheila gave so much to each other. Your loss is much greater than mine, but I mourn the loss of Sheila with you.

    Take care,
    Bruce

  30. KEN WOW IS WHAT I WOULD SAY WHEN I SAW YOU AND SHEILA TOGETHER!!!! THE PASSION THE WARMTH THE RESPECT THE TENDERNESS AND THE UNDENIABLE LOVE YOU TWO SHARED IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL THING…ALL THESE EMOTIONS WOULD SHINE THROUGH SHEILAS EYES THE VERY MOMENT YOU STEPPED INTO THE ROOM.I LOVED HOW SHE LOVES YOU AND YOU WOULD LOVE HER RIGHT BACK ALMOST IN A “TOP THAT ” KIND OF WAY. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF GETTING TO KNOW SHEILA OVER THE LAST 3 1/2YRS. THERE IS AND NEVER WILL BE ANY-ONE LIKE HER. SHE WAS SO000 SO SMART KIND, LOVING, ALSO VERY GENEROUS WITH HER TIME AND KNOWLEDGE. SHE WAS SO SO FUNNY KEN ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE TRIED TO BE MAD I COULDN’T HELP BUT LAUGH AND SAY SHEILA YOU JUST ARE FUNNY AND SHE WOULD LAUGH AT HER SELF MOST OF THE TIME NOT ALWAYS, BUT SHE ALWAYS MADE ME PROUD TO WORK FOR HER. I ALWAYS WANTED TO MAKE HER PROUD AND DO WELL TO GIVE HER BACK SOMETHING FOR ALL SHE HAS GIVEN ME!!!!!!!!!HER LIFE HERE HAS CHANGED SO MANY LIVES AND HER PASSING HAS BROKEN SO MANY HEARTS. KEN SHEILA GAVE ME ANOTHER SPECIAL GIFT DURING HER TIME HERE WITH US AND THAT GIFT WAS YOU!!!!!!!!!
SO WITH THAT BEING SAID PLZ GET YOUR SURGERY VERY SOON OR I WILL GET A MADITTUDE…
    LOVE,
    EVETTE

  31. Dear Ken,

When I was young, the world’s cruelty wounded me all to often. Then I got older I became numb, almost immune at times. Now I read once more your words of love, a love that has never been better immortalized and I am moved deeply beyond numbness, beyond my mundane cares. And I know that life’s miseries can and do bring out the best of humanity. In your loving heart beats the soul of that human spirit and it brings light to us who’ve learned to look to you for illumination.
May your wonderful heart beat long as a tribute to Sheila and what you shared.
    David

  32. Dear Ken,
